Summary: This course aims to engage participants in various performance techniques essential to developing a fresh understanding of communication competency in person-centred care. Experiential methods and drama-based activities inspire reflection on practice. Participants develop a critical vocabulary and a proactive approach to teamwork, practice development, collective resilience, and self-care.
This course consists of live workshop-based sessions, delivered by an experienced international team of HAT trainers. Each session lasts three hours and is delivered via Zoom. This course is at the level of a graduate certificate, and so is a postgraduate course, therefore independent learning is important. Set in a Person-Centred approach, our workshops use HAT techniques drawn from the performing arts, actor training, and applied drama. We are not teaching you to be an actor, rather we are using techniques from acting and drama to enliven your learning on how to be a person-centred nurse.
