Farewell to Professor Aisha Holloway
The Nursing Now Challenge extends its heartfelt congratulations to Professor Aisha Holloway, who today, steps down from her role as Programme Director to take up the prestigious position of Chief Nursing Officer for Scotland.
Since joining the Nursing Now Challenge as Programme Director in 2023, Professor Holloway has led the programme with passion, vision, and a deep commitment to empowering early-career students, nurses and midwives around the world. Under her leadership, the Nursing Now Challenge has continued to grow its global network and amplify the voice of nurses and midwives.
“Leaving my role as Programme Director of Nursing Now Challenge, one of the most magical and meaningful times of my life and career, is not an ending, but a new beginning because of the incredible people I have met along the way. They will remain friends and companions for life. I say this because the magic of this journey wasn’t simply in the work we did together, but in the way we worked together. Kindness, trust, laughter, generosity and a shared purpose of ensuring leadership and development opportunities for early career nurses, midwives and students, that’s where the real magic happened.
There are so many extraordinary and wonderful memories, highlights and firsts to reflect on and hold dear. Too many to list and all unforgettable in their own way.
As a new chapter begins, how lucky am I to have all of those special people in my life, who so far have filled it with joy, growth and inspiration. I thank you all for being part of my story and I am humbled to have been part of yours.” Professor Aisha Holloway, Programme Director, Nursing Now Challenge.
Professor Holloway will remain an integral part of the Nursing Now Challenge, continuing to offer her guidance and expertise as she joins the Advisory Board. In this new capacity, she will contribute to supporting the future development of the programme’s strategic direction and ensure that the voices of nurses and midwives remain at the heart of our global work. We are delighted that she will continue to be part of the Nursing Now Challenge family as we build on the strong foundations she has helped to create.
“We are so grateful for Aisha’s leadership and contribution to the Nursing Now Challenge and the wider nursing and midwifery community. We wish her every success in her new role and look forward to seeing the positive impact she will continue to make in advancing nursing and healthcare in Scotland and beyond.” The Nursing Now Challenge team.
