New Challengers’ Committee Global Leads Announced
As our global community continues to grow, so too does the importance of strong leadership. We are therefore delighted to announce the creation of new Challengers’ Committee Global Lead roles, designed to strengthen engagement, representation and support across our growing global community.
The newly appointed Global Leads are:
- Shazia Ali, responsible for mentorship for Regional Hub Leads
- Andres de Juan Ortega, responsible for organisational member engagement
- Zipporah Muthoni Iregi, responsible for the Alumni Pathways
- Darcie O’Connell, responsible for HEI and student member engagement.
The Global Leads will also join the Advisory Board and will help to foster closer collaboration between Board members and those providing frontline care in communities across the globe. They will ensure the Advisory Board remains grounded in the lived experience of the Nursing Now Challenge community and that the programme responds to their development and support needs.
The Nursing Now Challenge remains committed to developing and elevating the authentic voices of student and early-career nursing and midwifery leaders. With a strengthened Advisory Board and a dynamic Challengers’ Committee Global Leads team, the Nursing Now Challenge is well placed to progress its mission and deepen its impact internationally.
“The Nursing Now Challenge exists to ensure that students and early career nurses and midwives have the support, visibility and leadership development opportunities they need. Today’s announcement reflects our collective commitment to building a community that is truly global in its reach and grounded in the realities of those providing care at the frontline. I am proud of what we are building together.” Professor Gemma Stacey, Programme Director, Nursing Now Challenge.
