The Immunisation Advocacy Champions launch their own NNCGSI & pave the way for nurses & midwives to influence change
In October, the Nursing Now Challenge and Sabin Vaccine Institute’s Immunisation Advocacy Champions, launched a new Nursing Now Challenge Global Solutions Initiative (NNCGSI) to expand their efforts to elevate the voices and perspectives of nurses and midwives to influence discussions and decisions on improving vaccine acceptance and demand in their communities and around the world.
This latest NNCGSI challenge will run until 19th December 2022, and nurses and midwives will be encouraged to develop a plan to engage or advocate in their community/country/region to better support nurses, midwives and other professionals working to boost and sustain vaccine acceptance and demand.
Among the most trusted professions, nurses and midwives have the opportunity and skill to influence the people they care for and the knowledge and experience to inform high-level policy decisions.
“Nurses and midwives deliver the majority of health services around the world and are crucial gatekeepers for families and communities to make informed decisions about vaccines and immunizations,” said Vince Blaser, Director of Sabin’s Immunization Advocates initiative. “As policymakers decide how to reverse the largest sustained decline in routine immunisation in 30 years while boosting uptake of COVID-19 vaccines and other vaccine rollouts, nurses and midwives’ expertise and experiences are crucial to ensure those policies have maximum impact.”
The winners of this challenge will benefit from…
