Summary: This course aims to engage participants in various performance techniques essential to developing a fresh understanding of communication competency in person-centred care. Experiential methods and drama-based activities inspire reflection on practice. Participants develop a critical vocabulary and a proactive approach to teamwork, practice development, collective resilience, and self-care.
This course consists of live workshop-based sessions, delivered by an experienced international team of HAT trainers. Each session lasts three hours and is delivered via Zoom. This course is at the level of a graduate certificate, and so is a postgraduate course; therefore, independent learning is important. Set in a Person-Centred approach, our workshops use HAT techniques drawn from the performing arts, actor training, and applied drama. We are not teaching you to be an actor; rather, we are using techniques from acting and drama to enliven your learning on how to be a person-centred nurse.
The content of this course is flexible, and through discussions, we may cover many topics. The content of the course will focus on:
– Person-centred communication skills
