International Nurses Day

This is an International Nurses’ Day like none other. Today we offer our sincere and heartfelt thanks to nurses around the world for their dedication to ensuring access to health for everyone, everywhere. Now more than ever it is urgent that governments around the world recognise the crucial role played by nurses and invest in the nursing workforce of today and tomorrow.

#RememberHealthHeroes

On 11th March 2020, COVID-19 was declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization. On 11th May, the eve of International Nurses Day, Nursing Now, the International Council of Nurses and the World Health Organization encouraged people to take part in a moment of reflection to honour the memory of nurses and health workers who have tragically died during the COVID-19 pandemic.

From now on, the 11th of each month will provide a moment of global reflection for health workers lost to COVID-19. Join us by sharing these social media tiles, along with the hashtag, #RememberHealthHeroes.
